My Homebrew Recipe

What is Homebrew?
  1. Homebrew refers to any part of a game that has been altered or otherwise customized.  In the case of this challenge, that means any changed rules, modified rolls, included mods, and so on.
  2. Homebrew also means something to do with computer hacking apparently?  That's right.  I hacked the challenge.

The Wilder-Moon Recipe

Rule Changes
In this challenge, I am following all of the updated ModTheSims rules to the best of my ability and memory.  In addition, my legacy will follow these rules of succession:

Gender Law: Equality - The founder and heirs may be of either gender.

Bloodline Law: Traditional - any children who are naturally born of the previous generation are eligible to be heir.  Basically, so long as they can trace an unbroken bloodline back to the founder and are raised in the legacy household, they are a potential heir.  This excludes adopted children; of course, they are loved and cared for just as much as any biological child. :)

Species Law: Tolerant - The species of a child has no impact on their eligibility for heir status.

Heir Law: Custom - Whoever I want to be heir will be heir, so long as they meet all other aforementioned requirements.

Additional self-imposed rules:
  • If a generation goes over its allotted number of children (by accidental twins, etc.) then any child born over that allotted number cannot be considered for heir.
  • On account of this legacy's Bloodline Law, I reserve the right to increase a generation's number of allowed children by one in order to produce a biological heir.

Roll Modifications
While this may vary slightly generation to generation, the following rolls are not being used in this challenge due to either me not having the appropriate expansion pack, or the knowledge that rolling it would ruin my fun:

And So On
  • Elders in town are forbidden from forming romantic relationships, or participating/becoming pregnant.  This is done to avoid my young adults from shacking up with their classmates' widowed mothers, etc.
  • Pudding faces can be tweaked at any time, and new townsfolk can be added at anytime.  As a rule of thumb, however, I try to avoid editing the genetics of anyone else.  It's not my fault they were born ugly.
    • The one exception to this is that disgusting brown-green swamp mutation hair.  It is an abomination and will be purged at all costs.
  • I allowed myself to only roll for 3-5 children on Gen 1, because I knew starting the challenge with a small family would be less fun and potentially kill my muse.  I'm picky.
  • Since the legacy founder was from another save and not hand-crafted for her roll, she was unable to fulfill her generation's Just For Fun requirement.  I allowed myself to "forward" Gen 1's Just For Fun roll to Gen 2.  So, Gen 2's heir must fulfill both their Just For Fun roll as well as their parents'.
  • In the event of the cursed face clone bug, I will go into CAS and hand-roll legacy children using Play With Genetics, then add them to the household.  I will not alter their appearances at the slider level.

Bake for 10 generations, or until crust is buttery and flaky.

Remove from toaster oven, and set to cool on a windowsill under the light of a full moon.
